Meet Lauren

Hi, I'm Lauren — yoga teacher, nature lover, advocate for holistic wellbeing through the lens of Ayurveda and the heart behind The Botanical Yogi.

When I first turned to yoga back in 2015 as a way to manage the stress that came from being a perfectionist working in marketing, I would have never imagined the journey I would be taken on. I quickly fell in love with the teachings of yoga, and witnessed the magic that arose, both on and off the mat.

After completing my first yoga teacher training in 2019, I said goodbye to the corporate world and began my journey of sharing this transformative practice with others. With training and experience in teaching Vinyasa, Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga, and Ayurveda, my teaching style is deeply rooted in the Divine Feminine energy (Shakti prana) that resides in each and every one of us - inviting creativity and fluidity, and an opportunity to nurture, nourish, rest and restore.

Drawing from the ancient teachings of yoga, I share more than just the physical postures (asanas).  My gentle flow yoga classes combine mindful movement, meditation and breathing techniques to gently improve strength, flexibility and balance, whilst calming the nervous system and promoting deep relaxation in a supportive, inclusive and nurturing environment.

Beyond my weekly classes, I am deeply passionate about sharing Ayurvedic wisdom  and creating spaces for connection. Through seasonal yoga workshops and retreats, I strive to support individuals in understanding the energetic qualities of each season and the different lifestyle and self-care practices they can adopt to better support themselves in aligning with the rhythms of nature and maintaining a greater sense of balance throughout the year. I also enjoy facilitating heartfelt experiences through sacred ceremonial circles that celebrate and honour life’s transitions such as becoming a mother, getting married or a milestone birthday.

Whether you are looking to deepen your yoga practice, find balance and a greater sense of calm in your daily life, live more in alignment with the seasons or celebrate one of life’s transitions, I would be so honoured to guide and support you on your journey.

The Botanical Yogi recognises the continuous and deep connection to Country, of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples as the first peoples of this nation.

In this way I respectfully acknowledge the Darug & Guringai people of this land, waters, sea and sky on which I teach.

I pay tribute to the Elders past and present and respect the collective ancestry that has brought us all here today.

It is a privilege to be teaching on Country and I hope that our work here in some way supports true custodianship of this land.
