TERMS & CONDITIONS

The Botanical Yogi warmly welcomes you to our community, both in person and online. Your safety and wellbeing is always our top priority.

Practicing with Awareness

As everyone comes to yoga & meditation for different reasons, when first coming to class, we ask that you please inform your teacher if you have any injuries, are pregnant or have any other relevant health concerns. We also ask that you please keep us updated if your situation changes.

It is important that you understand that Yoga is not a substitute for medical attention, examination, diagnosis or treatment. Yoga is not recommended and is not safe under certain medical conditions. It is your responsibility that a licensed physician has verified your good health and physical condition to participate in the classes offered, if required. If you are pregnant, become pregnant or are post-natal or post-surgical, we advise your physician’s approval to participate.

In yoga, we teach self-awareness and encourage you to listen to your body and respect its limits on any given day. If it doesn’t feel right, then please do not do it. If at any time during the class, you feel discomfort or strain, gently come out of the posture. We encourage rest at any time during the class and are there to offer assistance if you are unsure about whether a pose, movement or breathing/ meditation technique is right for you. We are here to support each other and more than happy to offer adjustments or alternatives to ensure you get the most from your practice.

We mustn't forget as is the case with any physical activity, the risk of injury is always present and cannot be entirely eliminated. You understand the instructions given throughout classes are intended only as guidance and you assume full responsibility for your health and wellbeing when undertaking the practice.

You also acknowledge that The Botanical Yogi teachers are not medically trained and are not qualified to assess if you are in good physical condition and can partake in classes without risking your health, safety or comfort. You further acknowledge and agree that any advice, courses or programs provided by The Botanical Yogi are for informational and educational purposes only and that you should speak with your doctor or other healthcare professional before acting on any such information.

Maintaining Sacred Space

The Botanical Yogi offers a sacred space for students to access tranquility, awareness and to connect with themselves. Please be mindful of the following as we honour and respect each other. To help us ensure classes start on time please pre-book and pay online where possible and arrive at least 5 minutes before the scheduled class start time. Upon arrival we ask that you please remove shoes before entering, enter the space quietly and with consideration for others, ensure your phone is turned off or on ‘do not disturb’ mode and place all personal belongings to the sides of the room to keep the space around your mat as clear as possible. We do not take responsibility for any loss or damage to your personal belongings. You also understand that upon entering any public building, there are risks and agree to not hold The Botanical Yogi liable for any harm or injury caused whilst on its premises .

© 2024 The Botanical Yogi

The Botanical Yogi recognises the continuous and deep connection to Country, of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples as the first peoples of this nation.

In this way I respectfully acknowledge the Darug & Guringai people of this land, waters, sea and sky on which I teach.

I pay tribute to the Elders past and present and respect the collective ancestry that has brought us all here today.

It is a privilege to be teaching on Country and I hope that our work here in some way supports true custodianship of this land.
