Gentle Flow Yoga
A slower, more restorative style of yoga class that combines movement, meditation and breathing techniques to gently improve strength, flexibility and balance, whilst calming the nervous system and promoting deep relaxation. Open to all levels, including beginners, seniors and pregnant women.

Classes run weekly on Mondays 9:30am & 7:00pm and Thursdays 9:30am. Please note, there is usually a reduced timetable during school holiday periods.

Meet Lauren
Hi, I'm Lauren — yoga teacher, nature lover, advocate for holistic wellbeing through the lens of Ayurveda and the heart behind The Botanical Yogi.
With training and experience in teaching Vinyasa, Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga, and Ayurveda, my teaching style is deeply rooted in the Divine Feminine energy (Shakti prana) that resides in each and every one of us - inviting creativity and fluidity, and an opportunity to nurture, nourish, rest and restore.

Drawing from the ancient teachings of yoga, I share more than just the physical postures (asanas). My gentle flow yoga classes combine mindful movement, meditation and breathing techniques to gently improve strength, flexibility and balance, whilst calming the nervous system and promoting deep relaxation in a supportive, inclusive and nurturing environment.

Beyond my weekly classes, I am deeply passionate about sharing Ayurvedic wisdom and creating spaces for connection. Through seasonal yoga workshops and retreats, I strive to support individuals in understanding the energetic qualities of each season and the different lifestyle and self-care practices they can adopt to better support themselves in aligning with the rhythms of nature and maintaining a greater sense of balance throughout the year. I also enjoy facilitating heartfelt experiences through sacred ceremonial circles that celebrate and honour life’s transitions such as becoming a mother, getting married or a milestone birthday.

As the sun pauses high in the sky, we are invited to bask in its incredible life-giving energy and align with the vibrant energy of summer. This is a season of brightness, abundance, and living fully in each moment.
The solstice is a powerful time to reflect, set new intentions, and embrace forward momentum as we prepare to step into a new year. Let the fullness of nature remind you of your own capacity to grow, thrive, and radiate your inner light.

![In Ayurveda, late winter through spring is Kapha season, when the elements of earth and water are most present in nature and in ourselves. While the energy of Kapha is inherently grounding, stable, and nourishing, when out of balance, it can leave us feeling sluggish, heavy, and unmotivated.
I was feeling quite stuck toward the end of winter and early spring, sensing the need for change but lacking the motivation and drive. Adopting some of these Kapha balancing practices over the last few weeks has already made a noticeable difference, helping me feel lighter and more energised. If youâre feeling the same, Iâd love for you to try out some of these practices too!
For me, waking earlier, a consistent daily meditation practice and moving my body more has been so beneficial. What practices are you leaning on this season, and are there any new ones youâd like to try?

The equinox is a time where the energies of light and dark are held in balance, where the length of day and night are perfectly equal. We are in this threshold between the contraction of winter and the expansion of summer. As the earth awakens and blooms around us, we are invited to embrace this same energy - opening ourselves to new possibility, growth, and expansion. It is a time of rebirth and renewal.
Yesterday, I spent time honouring the equinox with my husband and son at the very wholesome Birds of a Feather Spring Fair at @loriennovalis, wandering through their beautiful grounds, admiring the gorgeous handmade decorations and enjoying freshly brewed chai whilst soaking in some sunshine. In the afternoon, I hosted my sacred pause mini retreat, where a group of beautiful beings came together to celebrate and honour the equinox. Later, I sat in the stillness of the energy weâd created, meditating and reflecting with deep gratitude for all the blessings in my life, especially the opportunity to share these teachings with others.
This morning, ahead of a busy day of social commitments, I took a quiet moment to plant some marigold seeds, sealing my intention for the season ahead before placing them in the earth.
Here are some ways you might like to honour the Spring Equinox today:
đź Spend time in nature, feeling the warmth of the sun and soaking in the beauty that surrounds you.
đź Create a spring altar with flowers, seeds, or fresh herbs.
đź Invite in some mindful movement to awaken and re-energise your body.
đź Spend some time in quiet reflection before setting an intention for the season ahead. What do you wish to plant, nurture, and grow?

As we step into spring, a season of renewal and awakening, we are invited to embrace the vibrant energy that begins to surround us.
Spring is a time of new beginnings. Nature awakens from its slumber, blooming with fresh life and colour. The days grow longer, the air warmer, and thereâs a palpable sense of optimism and possibility.
In Ayurveda, spring is associated with kapha dosha, the energy of earth and water. As the heaviness of winter melts away, we are encouraged to shed any lingering stagnation and embrace lightness, growth, and movement.

![Coming Full Circle | A Moment of Reflection and Gratitude â¨
Five years ago, I embarked on what would be an unforgettable journey that changed the course of my life. I had been practicing yoga for a number of years and, after witnessing the magic that arose both on and off the mat, I found myself yearning to learn more. I signed up for the beautiful Chantalâs first-ever yoga teacher training at @om_sweet_om_milton. Initially, I didnât think I would teach yoga; I primarily did the training to deepen my knowledge. But about halfway through, something changed, and I felt called to share this practice with others. I completed the training at the end of July, and a month later, I put in my resignation for my full-time role in marketing. This was a huge leap of faith but the best decision I ever made and I am forever grateful to all the wonderful souls who supported and encouraged me along the way.
Fast forward to now, after teaching regular classes at @kula.body for a number of years, working closely with and studying under the amazing @bhakti.rose, setting up my own business, and building a beautiful yoga community in Galston, facilitating workshops and circles with my dear friend @yoga_on_my_mind, running seasonal retreats with the lovely @naturally.better.living, and continually deepening my knowledge through further study, my heart is overflowing with gratitude after returning to @om_sweet_om_milton, this time as a teacher on that teacher training.
It was an incredible honour to be able to share my passion and knowledge with the beautiful group of trainees last week. I taught Ayurveda, the energetics of the female menstrual cycle, yoga in pregnancy, and an introduction to the divine feminine and masculine energies. And the timing couldnât have been more perfect with the winter solstice and the full moon!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to Chantal for believing in me and supporting me all the way and of course, to the trainees too, for their eagerness to dive deep into the teachings. My heart is so full, and Iâm excited to see where this journey takes you all đ

The winter solstice marks the shortest day and longest night of the year, making it a time of darkness and contraction. Just as nature does, we are called to slow down and go within, to facilitate the process of decaying, decomposing, breaking down and truly releasing to make space for new growth, new life and expansion. In the laws of nature, darkness is a nourishing source that is essential for healing, growth, renewal and evolution.
It is after the long night of the winter solstice that the sun experiences a rebirth, waxing in power as the days begin to grow longer again. This time is not only a powerful period to honour the darkness but also our own innate luminosity, nurturing our inner warmth and light.
Whilst the last few days of teaching have seen me in a more outward expression, being back in the studio where I did my very first teacher training, now in the seat of the teacher sharing what I love and being immersed within the wonderful community of @om_sweet_om_milton and a beautiful group of teacher trainees, has brought so much warmth and light to my soul. Thereâs also been pockets of slowing down and immersing myself in mother nature, observing and truly appreciating the beauty of this season - the beauty of the cycle of death and rebirth. After teaching this afternoon, my son and I watched the sun set over the mountains amongst the bare branches of the winter trees before heading to the beach to watch the full moon rise over the ocean. ![Discover the ancient self-care practice of Abhyanga â¨
This is a practice I have wanted to incorporate into my life for some time now but have only recently started, after being re-inspired by the beautiful @alchemyofayurveda and her amazing book âAyurvedic Ritualsâ. I gifted myself half an hour one Sunday evening to dedicate to this practice and it was divine. At first, I wondered how I could spend more than a couple of minutes doing this practice but as my body softened and my breath deepened, I got lost in the rhythmic motion and that night, I slept so well. Whilst traditionally practiced daily as part of a morning or evening routine, a weekly ritual seems more achievable for me given the season of life I am currently in.
So hereâs a little how to guide Iâd like to share with you!
Some additional tips not covered in the reel
⨠Choosing your oil - cold pressed black sesame oil is traditionally used but you can choose whichever oil best suits your skin. You might like to change it up with the seasons too! Sesame is great for balancing vata, coconut for pitta and safflower for kapha. You can also add in a few drops of essential oil if you wish to scent your oil.
⨠Warming your oil - whether you are using an oil burner or a cup of hot water, take extra care not to burn yourself. The oil should be warm not hot!
⨠Massaging the oil into your body - begin at the extremities and work towards the heart. Use long strokes on the limbs and circular motions on the joints. Massage the chest in a clockwise motion, as well as the stomach following the path of the large intestine, moving up from the right hip towards the rib cage, then across, then down on the left side. Give a little extra time and attention to massaging the oil into your scalp, ears, and feet.

![With Easter this weekend, a much-anticipated family getaway and then school holidays and Anzac Day after that, there will be a reduced timetable for the month of April.
Here is the class schedule for the coming month -Â
W/C 1st Apr - Easter Monday 9:30am - 10:30am only
W/C 8th Apr - Monday 9:30am - 10:30am only (with the lovely Sharon Andersen)
W/C 15th Apr - Thursday 9:30am - 10:30am only
W/C 22nd Apr - Monday 9:30am - 10:30am only
I will be away from the 2nd to the 16th of April. During this time, Iâll be taking a break from socials so that I can be present with my family and truly immerse myself in the breathtaking views of New Zealand â°ď¸. If you need to contact me during this time, please get in touch via my website.
The usual weekly classes, including the Monday evening 7pm - 8pm class, will resume from Monday 29th April.

I am really excited to share with you a new offering Iâve been working on. I have teamed up with the wonderful nutritionist and naturopath, Andrea from @naturally.better.living and together we have carefully curated a day of mindful movement, learning, self reflection and relaxation to set you up for the season.
As the days begin to shorten, it is time to think about preparing your immune system for the coming winter. Nourish yourself with a day of yoga, relaxation and nutritious food whilst learning all about the importance of gut health, including practical ways to improve the integrity of your gut lining and the balance of your micro biome to maximise your immunity.
The retreat is held in a serene bush setting in Mount Colah and includes two yoga classes (gentle flow & restorative), guided relaxation, meditation and breath work as well as two practical nutrition workshops. You will also be given a wholesome seasonal lunch to enjoy, with healthy snacks and drinks provided throughout the day.Â
Date: Sunday, 5th May
Time: 9:30am - 4:30pm
Location: Private bush retreat in Mount Colah (exact address will be provided upon booking)
Investment: $299 or $259 early bird if you book on or before 21st April
